South Texas Birding TV Spot Shows Some Love for Migratory Connectivity
Our Texas partner, David Newstead of Coastal Bend Bays and Estuaries Program, was featured on the South Texas Birding segment this week!
Birds we are tracking from Alaska, Alberta, and Texas, are all migrating through the Texas Coastal Bend — the coastal area of Texas that borders the Gulf of Mexico. Broad-winged Hawks from Alberta zoomed through, some Black-bellied Plovers from Alaska stopped for a while to refuel along their journey, and the Long-billed Curlews we captured near Corpus Christi last winter, have returned after breeding in the northern prairies. It’s all happening in South Texas!
