Last week at Mad Island, TX, researchers from the Smithsonian’s Migratory Bird Center were kept busy as they caught hundreds of migrating passerines. In a single day they caught over 300 birds in just four mist nets! Meanwhile, the Cornell Lab of Ornithology had their biggest Big Day ever in Texas, breaking previous records by 30 species. Spring has definitely arrived!
