Citizen science has new insight on migrants and climate change

Check out the Smithsonian Magazine to learn how citizen scientists are collecting data on butterflies and helping to shed light on the effects of climate change.

“The researchers say this raises issues with current methods of butterfly species protection—and, for that matter, protection for all forms of wildlife that easily migrate between different locales.”

Results were just published in the journal Nature Climate Change.
